The Central Vigilance Commission on Monday asked the CBI to probe coal block allocations since 1993.

The CVC has reportedly written to Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal for the same.

Responding to the move, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said his party had no objection to the probe since 1993, which is now likely to include coal ministers under the BJP-led NDA regime.

"We have nothing to hide," said Javadekar.

Hitting out at the ruling party, he said, "This is Congress attempt to divert attention from allocation made between 2006 and 2009."
