Ahead of anti-Maoist operations in Orissa's Malkangiri district, the CRPF today invited school children to their barracks to give them a glimpse of the life in uniform.

Students of the central school at Malkangiri were invited to the barracks where they were told about the commitment of personnel against the Maoists who were responsible for violence in their area.

"It is an attempt to infuse patriotism among school children. From their childhood, they should know about nationalism so that in future they will not develop inclination towards Maoists," commandant NJ Vijay told PTI over phone.

The CRPF which has been in Malkangiri district for about a decade ever since the district became Maoist-hit, felt that it had not tried to build up a relationship with the local people and children.

"The central force which has been working for the masses, need to seek public support in order to counter the Maoists," said CRPF DIG, HR Singh.
