Criminal case registered against self-styled godman

Police have registered a criminal case against self-styled godman Anoop Kumar Sahay for allegedly abducting a 28-year-old MBA qualified girl.

Sahay was arrested after a complaint was filed by the girl's mother Sudha Srivastava yesterday in Kavi Nagar police station in Ghaziabad.

Sudha, in her complaint, alleged that Sahay used to come to her house and had offered to marry her daughter but the matter could not be materialised.

Sahai had claimed that he was a member of advisory board of a government ministry and has an ashram in Rishikesh.

On February 15, the girl, Priyanka, went out in the evening but did not return.

Police have found Sahay's house in Pratap Vihar locked.

A special team has been formed by the police to investigate the case and find the girl. One team has also been sent to Rishikesh.
