Crime branch arrests four with liquor bottles

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested notorious bootlegger Sahdev Tomar (33) along with his three subordinates. They have also seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor as well as a country- made pistol from Tomar and his associates. 

Tomar was also wanted in a kidnapping and a rape case.  The crime branch arrested Tomar, a resident of KK Nagar in Ghatlodia, Ravisinh Tomar (21), a resident of Krishnanagar in Naroda and Kirit alias Bhavu Solanki(33), a resident of Amraivadi.

“The trio were to deliver liquor to Bablu alias Arjunsingh Kushwah(26), a resident of Rajkot,” a crime branch official said. All the four were arrested on Wednesday by the crime branch, when police sub inspector Jeetendra Yadav and JD Purohit were on patrolling in Bapunagar.  “They were arrested near the Gujarat Bottling Factory.

Around 132 bottles of liquor were found in their car,” a crime branch source said. Apart from the liquor, the police also found a country-made pistol along with 10 live cartridges worth Rs55,750 from Sahdev Tomar. Sahdev is notorious for bootlegging activities. He is also believed to have taken to crime at the young age of 14.  “He had been arrested seven times for rioting, five times for possession of illegal weapons and 25 times for bootlegging activities,” a crime branch official said.

Sahdev is also wanted in the kidnapping of a teenage boy from Krishnagar and for the rape of a girl. “All of them are on police remand and we will get more information about their activities during the interrogation,” crime branch officials said.
