Cops cull wannabe don’s fledging career in Ahmedabad

The fledgling career of a wannabe don has come to an abrupt end.

After keeping city police on their toes for five days, Musaif alias Lalakhan Pathan was arrested by Vastrapur police on Friday. Nineteen-year-old Musaif is the youngest son of former Latif aide, Yusufkhan Pathan alias Yusuf Laplap.

His friend, Mohammad Salman Pathan (21) too was arrested on Thursday evening, and they both were in police custody till Friday morning. They were presented before court later in the day. 

Primary investigations revealed that Musaif was arrested from his residence near Prem Darwaja while Salman was caught from municipal staff quarters, Shahpur Darwaja. “His Suzuki Hayabusa superbike too has been confiscated,” said NG Gosai, police sub-inspector with Vastrapur.

Earlier on September 16, Musaif and Salman attacked 18-year-old Rahul Trivedi near Rajpath Club over a parking issue. The duo was on their Hayabusa and had asked Trivedi to park his car somewhere else as the space belonged to them.

When Trivedi protested, he was bashed up. Based on Trivedi’s complaint, Vastrapur police registered a case against Musaif and Salman. “Their motorcycle was seized as it too was involved in the crime,” said Gosai, who presented the accused in court later in the day.
