The Uttar Pradesh Congress has initiated an inquiry into charges that certain party workers in Agra had morphed a group photograph to show them along with Rahul Gandhi.
"Following reports that some party workers have morphed picture of national general secretary Rahul Gandhi in a group photograph an inquiry has been initiated by chairman of disciplinary committee," state general secretary Subodh Srivastava said.
He said that an explanation has been sought in this regard from the workers concerned.
Earlier, taking a serious note of the incident, Agra unit president Ashwini Jain expelled some party workers and leaders including former MP and AICC member Prabhu Dayal Katheria.
However, the expulsion of Katheria has been quashed by the UPCC later. "Jain is not authorised to expel a former MP or a senior leader. An explanation has also been called from him in this regard," Srivastava said.
