The Congress has at last got something to hit back at the BJP in the second generation mobile spectrum controversy.

With revelations by lobbyist Nira Radia’s former business partner Rao Dheeraj Singh surfacing in a section of the media about her BJP connections, the Congress has taken the opportunity to trade guns with the opposition.

“Will the BJP now hold rallies against its general secretary Ananth Kumar,” asked Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

Armed with 10 questions, Singhvi referred to Radia’s reported links with Kumar, who was also civil aviation minister during the NDA regime, when she is said to have inked her first big deal.

He also targeted BJP senior leader LK Advani who figures in the revelations for his presence at a temple function on a plot allegedly allotted to Radia in south Delhi.

“Was Advani admiring her lobbying skills when he laid the foundation stone?” quipped Singhvi.

The revelations are different from the Radia tapes that are available in the public domain. Rao Dheeraj Singh had to spend two years in prison after Radia accused him of kidnapping her son.

Singhvi claimed the lobbyist had stashed money in Swiss banks.
