The Odhav ward Congress committee has written a letter to the state election commission (SEC) demanding that the candidature of the BJP corporator from Odhav, Ramesh Parmar, be cancelled.

In a three-page letter to the SEC, the president of the committee, Revabhai Desai, has alleged that Parmar stays in the 'illegally-constructed' Indiranagar na Kacha Chapra.

The AMC has served notice to Indiranagar na Kacha Chapra asking the owner to remove the illegal constructions, the letter says. "Strangely, Parmar has 12 houses which he gives out on rent," Desai's claims in the letter.

The Odhav ward Congress has also stated that Parmar is not fit to be a candidate to contest the civic polls as he has four kids. "Three children were born to him before the election notification of 2005 but another child was born on July 6, 2008, i.e., after the election notification of 2005," states the letter. According to the notification of 2005, a candidate for the civic body should not have more than two children. Desai's letter has also given the name and age of each of Parmar's children.

The Odahav Congress committee had also written a letter to the SEC on October 7, 2010 i.e. before the elections. Parmar won the civic polls held on October 10 from a seat reserved for Scheduled Castes (under rotation rules).
