Targeting Congress over the issue of corruption, BJP president Nitin Gadkari today alleged it had "outsourced" the Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) for "looting" the people's money in the second-generation (2G) mobile telephony spectrum allocation.

"For the 2G spectrum scam, Congress had outsourced DMK for making money with (former telecom minister) A Raja playing the lead role and (Tamil Nadu chief minister) M Karunanidhi masterminding it," he told a party rally in Chennai.

The year 2010 had become "a year of scandal" with scams in 2G, Commonwealth Games and Adarsh Housing Society and Bofors case, Gadkari alleged and claimed the total money involved was to the tune of Rs2,50,000 crore which was 3% of the country's gross domestic product.

"They (Congress) just looted the people's money by using DMK as a commercial shop (on the 2G spectrum scam)..," he alleged at the concluding rally of the 40-day yatra taken out by state BJP president Pon Radha Krishnan across Tamil Nadu demanding educational assistance to poor Hindu students.

Gadkari said BJP was not making any allegation on the 2G spectrum scam issue and was only quoting the CAG report.

On dynastic politics, he said though Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had said there was no dynasty rule in India, "it was he who had benefitted."

From Jawaharlal Nehru, Congress party had been headed by Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. "It is a family party", he charged.
