The Congress government in Delhi today came under attack by several of its own party MLAs who expressed concern over delay in some Commonwealth Games projects.

At a legislative party meeting, several MLAs targeted the public works department for delay in completion of projects linked to the mega event.

A few MLAs also raise the issue of increasing incidents of crime in the city and urged chief minister Sheila Dikshit to take up the issue with the Centre as police functions under the Union home ministry, sources said.

Asking MLAs to extend their full cooperation, Dikshit assured them that the Games will be a great success.

On the law and order situation, she too expressed unhappiness.

The meeting was held just before beginning of the proceedings of the monsoon session of the assembly. The assembly session which got off to a stormy start today over allegations of corruption in Games projects, will come to an end on Monday.
