Two bodyguards of a Congress MLA in Rajasthan were arrested for allegedly scuffling with truck drivers and opening fire in the air to threaten them near here, police said today.
"The incident happened yesterday on Jaipur-Delhi highway near Kotputli town. Two bodyguards of MLA from Bengu in Chittorgarh district Rajendra Singh, who were on their way to New Delhi in a car, stopped a truck and thrashed its driver for not giving them space to overtake the vehicle," they said.
"Other truck drivers intervened into the matter. One of the bodyguards suddenly opened fire in the air with his revolver and tried to flee from the scene. He was, however, nabbed by the locals," police said, adding that the two were arrested under various sections of IPC, and were later released on bail.
