Congress Monday sought to dismiss India Inc's call to Government to dispel the notions of a policy paralysis saying nobody should forget that the country achieved 9 per cent growth under the same policies and programmes.
"We should not forget that we have achieved almost 9 per cent growth every year with the same policy paralysis. Let India Inc give an analysis for it first then we will think about what policy they are saying," party spokesperson Renuka Chaudhary told reporters here.
She was responding to questions on the remarks of some leading industrialists at the annual Indian summit of World Economic Forum in Mumbai on Monday.
Speaking on the occassion, leading industrialist Mukesh Ambani urged the government to move faster in its decision-making and to put to rest any notion about policy paralysis due to political constraints.
There was also a demand from the India Inc that the government should evolve a new model of governance to meet the growing expectations of the people and guard against any protectionist measures globally.
Chaudhary said the notions of policy paralysis if any are not right as Indian economy managed to remain firm amid the global crisis whereas "those countries in the world, which were trying to progress by running fast fell down."
She said while the goverment welcomes all kinds of inputs and appreciates the suggestions from industrialists, credit should also be given to it. "Donot write off the credit to one if it is due," Chaudhary said.
