Congress core committee meets on Indo-Pak foreign minister-level talks

The core group of the party comprising of Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gadhi, Pranab Mukherjee, P Chidambaram, AK Antony and Ahmed Patel met to discuss the issue outcome of the talks.

In the backdrop of the controversy set off by the foreign minister-level talks between India and Pakistan, the top brass of the Congress met today to discuss the deliberations and the outcome of the talks.

The core group of the party comprising of prime minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gadhi, finance
minister Pranab Mukherjee, home minister P Chidambaram,
defence minister AK Antony and political secretary to Congress president, Ahmed Patel met to discuss the issue ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament.

The monsoon session of Parliament begins on July 26 and
the Indo-Pak talks, Maoism and price rise are likely to dominate the month-long proceedings.
