Congress, an ally of the Trinamool Congress, on Wednesday condemned the killing of two CPI(M) leaders in Burdwan town in West Bengal, but blamed 'miscreants' for the incident.
"An unfortunate incident has taken place in Burdwan where a CPI(M) procession was attacked by some miscreants leading to the death of two, including a CPI(M) MLA. We condemn the attack," WBPCC president Pradip Bhattacharjee said in Kolkata.
The CPI(M) has squarely blamed the Trinamool Congress for the death of Pradip Tah and Kamal Gayen at Dewandighi in Burdwan town. The Trinamool Congress has denied it.
"Political killings in Bengal must stop. But unfortunately it is going on," he said.
"The guilty must be brought to justice without seeing the political colour of the culprits," he said.
