Despite being snubbed by Bodo Peoples Front (BPF) in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election, the ruling Congress said the state-level alliance with the party will continue.
"The BPF decision of going it alone in the BTC poll will not have any impact on our ongoing alliance with the party," chief minister Tarun Gogoi told reporters here today.
The ruling BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary had announced during the BTC poll campaign that the party will fight alone and not ally with Congress.
The 40-member council election is scheduled on April nine.
"I have a good understanding with Mohilary and will continue to support the BPF," Gogoi said.
"So far the scene has been by and large peaceful," he said.
