Congress, BJP misleading public on black money issue: Mayawati

Hitting out at Congress and BJP, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Monday said both the parties are misleading public on the black money issue.

"Both Congress and BJP are misleading people on the black money issue... they are not seriously concerned about bringing it back," she said at an election meeting in Kushinagar.

Mayawati also held SP, BJP and Congress responsible for the backwardness of Uttar Pradesh, specially Purvanchal region.

When SP, BJP and Congress were in power in UP, they did nothing for its progress and indulged in corruption and this is the main reason for the backwardness of the state, she said.

Making an appeal to the people not to vote for these parties, she said it is only the BSP which has been working for all sections of society including dalits, deprived, farmers and labourers.
