Cong to corner MP govt over corruption issue in bugdet session

The budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly beginning Monday is likely to be stormy, with the opposition Congress deciding to corner government over the issue of corruption.

"We are going to take the government to the task over the issue of corruption in the assembly session in the wake of Income Tax raid at the residence of an IAS couple here in which huge property and cash amassed by the duo unlawfully was unearthed," deputy leader of oppostion in the Vidhan Sabha Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi told PTI today.

He alleged that enquiries were pending with the Special Establishement of Police (SPE)- Lokayukta - against Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and eight members of his Cabinet on charges of corruption.

Chaturvedi said that the corruption was rampant in Madhya Pradesh and development work has taken a back seat.

"We are going to corner the government and press it to make public the property owned by Ministers and Bureaucrats," he added.
