PDP today said incidents of conflicts had its bearing on the tourism sector of Jammu and Kashmir and restricted the socio-economic growth of the border state.

"The failure of India and Pakistan to resolve disputes over the state has resulted in human miseries and stalled the growth of the state on social and economic fronts," PDP president Mehbooba Mufti told party workers in Beerwah, 40 kms from Srinagar in Budgam district.

"The states which learnt the aspects of tourism from us have become global destinations in contrast to Kashmir, once the only attraction of westerners in South Asia," she said adding the industry had always been at the receiving end and unable to grow to its full potential as a result of "confict and uncertainity".
