Concession on land allotment rates for army personnel

Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced a 15% concession in the rates of land to be allotted under the 'Jai Jawan Awas Yojna' (JJAY), a housing scheme meant for army personnel and ex-servicemen.

The decision was taken at the Civil-Military Liaison Conference held in Chandigarh, an official release said.

Hooda also relaxed the domicile condition in the JJAY scheme besides extending the period given to Haryana Urban Development Authority for initial payment to December 31, 2010, it said.

The meeting also decided to start separate dedicated regional transport offices for defence personnel at Panchkula, Ambala and Hisar for the convenience of the large population of serving and retired defence personnel residing in these cantonments and nearby towns.
