Delhi government today said that all infrastructure development projects related to Commonwealth Games will be completed before the mega event in 2010.
"The projects, for smooth traffic movement, like the new flyovers, were ensuring a comfortable journey to people and adding to the "aesthetic value" of the city," said chief minister," Sheila Dikshit.
She was dedicating to the people the newly-constructed one-km long Nangloi Flyover, which will connect two important intersections and provide a fast and safe elevated road for inter-state traffic between Delhi, Rohtak, Hissar, Bhiwani, Jind and other towns of Rajasthan and Punjab.
The flyover, which has been constructed by the PWD at a cost of Rs78 crore, runs parallel to the elevated Metro line of Inderlok?"Mundka.
Describing flyover projects in the city as a "success story", Dikshit said all flyovers in Delhi were being beautified by developing green areas below them and efforts were on to enhance their "aesthetic value".
Delhi PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan said all infrastructure development projects would be completed before the commencement of the Games. He said the Behra Enclave underpass will also be commissioned soon to provide a signal-free route on outer ring road.
Union minister of State for Women and Child Development Krishna Tirath, who was also present, appreciated efforts of the government for all-round development of Delhi.
