CITU for complete ban on future trading in commodity market

CPI(M)-affiliated trade union CITU today demanded complete ban on speculation and future trading in commodity market to contain inflation.

"The government should curb price rise and universalise public distribution system in the state. We demand a complete
ban on speculation and future trading in commodity market, which alone can contain inflation," state unit chief of Central Indian Trade Union M Y Tarigami said.
    
He was addressing a joint rally here organised by some central trade unions like BMS, INTUC, AITUC, CITU and HMS. State president of Congress trade union INTUC Shiv Kumar Sharma demanded strict enforcement of labour laws and punitive measures action against those violating these rules.
    
N K Dogra, President AITUC, the trade union of CPI, expressed serious concern over widespread contractorisation and casualisation of workers in most workplaces.
