Circle inspector charged with rape in Hyderabad

A case has been registered against a Circle Inspector on charges of attempt to rape two women in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, police said today.
    
The Nandikotkur Circle Inspector T N Babu allegedly attempted to rape two women at their residences in Maruthi Nagar in Nandikotkur town of Kurnool district last night, a senior police officer said today.
    
Following a complaint from the two women that Babu tried to outrage their modesty, the District SP Ch Srikant ordered
an inquiry and asked ASP Ravindra Naik to inquire into the matter and submit a report.
    
The Inspector has not yet been arrested as investigations were underway.
    
"Truth will be known soon. An inquiry report is being prepared. Prima-facie if anything is found against the Inpsector in the report, then we will initiate legal action against him ," Kurnool district Superintendent of Police CH Srikant said over the phone.
