A breath taking flypast by the IAF and scintillating dare devil acts on bikes by the army left the audience, particularly children, spellbound during the Republic Day parade in Republic Day parade today.

The tiny tots were the most excited among the spectators and gave elders and securitymen some tough time as they stood up and sometimes ran towards the railing for a better view.

Many a time, security personnel had to coax them to sit down and not run towards the railings.

Dhruv helicopters showered rose petals on the spectators at the beginning of the parade and later IAF aircraft conducted the final flypast.

Among other formations, the 'Vertical Charlie' enthused spectators the most. Three SU-30 MKI aircraft executed the 'Trishul manoeuvre' in which the leader pulled up and carried out a two-and-a-half turn Vertical Charlie, while the wingmen split sideways, forming a trident in the air.

The children stood in awe and took their seats only afterthe metallic birds disappeared in the horizon.

For 8-year-old Sahil Asgar, a student of Bluebell international school, the airshow was the best of all presentations.

The airshow, particularly the Big Boy and Arrowheadformations, left 13-year-old Neeraj amazed.

It was interesting to see two floral tigers and two cubs roaring along the Rajpath bringing to the nation's conscience the need to save the national animal.
