Children held in Ahmedabad for throwing firecrackers at passers-by

They threw crackers while simultaneously riding their two-wheelers just for fun. The underage accused have not been named for legal reasons.

In wake of the biker gang menace on city roads, Satellite police held three children for throwing crackers at passersby in the wee hours of Thursday. They threw crackers while simultaneously riding their two-wheelers just for fun. The underage accused have not been named for legal reasons.

According to police, the accused were held at 2:45 am near Vishal Tower in Prahladnagar. Sub-inspector with Satellite police, KJ Patel said that during patrolling some night watchmen told him that three children threw fire crackers at him.

The watchmen said that the kids were on an Activa and a Scooty.
When the patrolling squad was getting ready to chase them they received a message from the police control room that three boys were caught for throwing firecrackers while on their bikes. Since the accused are minor their identities have not been revealed.

One of the accused live in Somnathnagar society in Naranpura while the rest two live at Shantiniketan Bungalow, in Satellite area.
Police inspector with Satellite police station, MR Gupta said that a non-cognisable case has been filed against the parents of the children. He said that they were produced before the court and later on released.
