Charred body of forest officer found in Andhra Pradesh

'The body of Shiva Ram Naik, 55, was found burnt along with his bike under Narayankhed Forest limits,' a police officer from Narayankhed town said.

A charred body of a forest officer was found near a village under the Narayankhed Forest limits about 90km from here in Medak district, police said today.
 
"The body of Shiva Ram Naik, 55, was found burnt along with his bike under Narayankhed Forest limits. Naik, who was forest beat officer of Sanjeeva Rao Pet Forest Office, was burnt by unidentified persons" a police officer from Narayankhed town told PTI.
 
Reacting to a query, the police officer said whether naik was burnt alive or first killed and later set on fire need to be established.
 
According to sources, Naik went into the forest last night after receiving a phone call from an unidentified person who informed that there was illegal transportation of teak wood.
 
Naik's body was found burnt near Kadpal village by some shepherds and farmers late last night who alerted the forest and police officials.
 
Senior officials of forest department visited the place.
