Chennai: Janata party president Subrmanian Swamy today said the Centre should not hold talks with the Maoists "under any circumstances", saying they were "terrorists."
"You should not negotiate with terrorists under any circumstances even if they give up arms. There should be zero tolerance against any terror organisation," he told reporters here.
He was reacting to Thursday's incident at Jharkhand where eight bogies of the Tata-Bilaspur passenger train derailed after Maoists blew up railway tracks in the state's West Singhbhum district, killing two persons and injuring several.
Union home minister P Chidambaram had recently said Maoists should abjure violence and come for talks "to solve their problems."
Swamy said it "is not fair" to hold talks even with Hurriyat conference since "they call for separate Kashmir."
He noted that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, leader of Hurriyat conference, a separatist amalgam, "now wants China to be made a party to talks on Kashmir."
Internationalisation of the Kashmir issue was "totally unacceptable to Indian patriots," he added.
Condemning the "violent attacks" on the offices of TV news channel IBN in Mumbai, allegedly by Shiv Sena workers, he said the matter must be probed by CBI and responsibility fixed on whoever "directed" the violence.
