Central team's Bengal visit a bluff: BJP

With the Central team returning without visiting violence-hit areas in West Bengal, the BJP today said it clearly indicated that Congress and CPI-M were 'hand-in-glove'.

In an obvious reference to Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee who had demanded Central intervention to stop 'state-sponsored terrorism', state BJP president Rahul Sinha said, "It appears that a lollipop has been given to a weeping girl."

"The Central team has neither visited Khanakul which witnessed political clashes recently nor any place in the state which saw violence. The team members returned after having tea and snacks with bureaucrats," he told reporters here.

Sinha said had an all-party parliamentary delegation visited the state, the Centre as well as Lok Sabha would have got correct information. "The central team is to bluff the people."

Citing the Congress' forming of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Board with the support of CPI-M, Sinha said the party should not, now, speak of opposing Marxists.

He also alleged a link between "anti-Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee faction in CPI-M and Trinamool Congress".
