ShareAhmedabad: CAT 2009 aspirants in the city were a worried lot on Sunday. They had their reasons. While they were concerned about scoring a high percentile, they also kept their fingers crossed hoping the computer systems do not crash in their test labs.
Heaving a sigh of relief, Prasad Singh, who came from Udaipur to appear in the CAT 2009 in Ahmedabad, said, "The test was easy. I am so relieved it went well and there were no disruptions or failure of the system or the software.
After learning about the servers crashing at various centres in other parts of the country, I was really worried."
He said. "If the test is cancelled, I will either have to stay in a hotel in Ahmedabad and wait till the scheduled date or return home and come back here again. In either of the cases, it will be inconvenient for me and my expenses would mount." Others who will be appearing in the test in coming days also thronged the test sites to interact with the candidates coming out of the examination hall.
A CAT aspirant from Anand, Hardik Dadhni had arrived in Ahmedabad on Sunday morning for his test the next day. On Sunday evening, he was at a centre, LJ Institute of Management, to confirm if the test was running smoothly. Talking about his concerns, Dadhni said, "I was curious to know if the computers or the software would pose any problem during my test or not. So, I tried to find it out myself."
He said, "I am relieved that all has gone well so far and the candidates I spoke to didn't face a problem. However, I am keeping my fingers crossed."
Dadhni came to the venue with around 15 others who were all appearing in the test. An official who was part of the team conducting the test said, "Initially, with the news of server failures at various places, we started to get worried. However, as everything has been well till now, we guess the remaining days would be problem-free." (Some names are changed on request)
