Car containing explosives found near IAF station in Punjab

The explosives included four cans of petrol based urea, potash, wires, a detonator and some highly explosive powder.

Police found crude explosives in an abandoned car today near IAF station Halwara, 35 km from here.
    
A shopkeeper brought to the notice of IAF authorities that an abandoned car without number plate had been lying unclaimed near his shop for over 36 hours, deputy inspector
general of police (Ludhiana) SS Chauhan said.
    
The car contained a big amount of explosives consisting of four cans of petrol based urea, potash, wires, a detonator and some highly explosive powder, Chauhan said, adding a mobile phone without sim card was also found inside the car.
    
The powder has been sent to forensic experts and police is investigating the matter, he said.
