CAG imparting auditing training in developing countries: Vinod Rai

Comptroller and Auditor General of India Vinod Rai on Friday said the country's top audit institution is assisting capacity building in auditing sector in other developing nations.

"The supreme audit institution of the country has an important place at global level and is assisting capacity building in auditing sector in developing nations," he said after a steering committee meeting of International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), a worldwide affiliation of governmental entities.

He said three national-level and 12 regional-level centres are imparting training in auditing.

A national-level centre is also being set up in Jaipur and has been given affiliation for training at the global level, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Comptroller General of the United States Gene Dodaro said the US is also working towards assisting auditing institutions across the world.

Lauding the role and the work of Comptroller and Auditor General of India, World Bank's Chief Financial Management Officer Anthony Hegarty said it is an institution of high standard and had trained approximately 3,000 people in auditing in different countries.
