By-polls for 7 assembly seats in Guj on Sept 10

The election commission of India has announced the schedule for by-elections in seven assembly constituencies in Gujarat, along with that of election in other states.

The election commission of India has announced the schedule for by-elections in seven assembly constituencies in Gujarat, along with that of election in other states.

By-elections will be held in Chotila (10), Jasdan (16), Dhoraji (22), Kodinar (47), Dahegam (66), Sami (93) and Data (102) on September 10. The results of the by-elections in Gujarat will be declared on September 14.

A notification in regard to the by-elections will be published on August 17. The last day for submission of nomination papers will be August 24 and the last date for withdrawal of the same will be August 27.

The election commission in a press release said that the election code of conduct will be in force from August 12 in all six districts in question, till the end of the election process.

The code of conduct will apply to the state government, all political parties, secretariat departments, local bodies, boards and corporations, and for all entities that receive any government funding.
