Jaipur: Pulled up by the Assembly Speaker, the chief secretary has asked all bureaucrats and heads of departments to be prompt in sending reply on legislative matters to Vidhan Sabha within 15 days.
"This (order) should be obeyed and ensured that sought reply be made within the stipulated days on priority, and if any laxity is fond, departmental action will be taken against all responsible," chief secretary T Srinivasan said in a circular to principal secretaries, secretaries and heads of departments yesterday.
"When assembly is in session, the replies be made immediately and within fifteen days after the House is adjourned sine die," circular said.
When the assembly is not in session, the adjournment motion's reply be made within 24 hours, call attention motion's within three days and special mention matter's within seven days.
On a normal basis, reply should be provided within 15 days, he said.
Speaker Deependra Singh Shekhawat had on Wednesday summoned the chief secretary and five principal secretaries on the delay of replies on questions, privilege committee's reports and queries.
