Speaking on the occasion the West Bengal chief minister said Gaur university was the 18th varsity in the state and the second in North Bengal.

West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Gaur university here.
Speaking on the occasion Bhattacharjee said Gaur university was the 18th varsity in the state and the second in North Bengal.
He said the university would help the people of North Bengal.
The chief minister said the state government was giving a lot of importance to improving the standard of education in the state especially scientific research.
State ministers Sailen Sarkar, Narayan Biswas and Srikumar Mukherjee were present on the occasion.
