Brother-sister attempt suicide in Uttar Pradesh; girl dies

Apparently depressed over poor performance in their school examination, a brother and a sister allegedly attempted suicide by consuming poison in Matnawali village here in the district.
   
While, 14-year-old Gita, a class eight student, died yesterday, her 16-year-old brother Sandeep was battling for life in hospital, police said.

In a separate incident, a woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a tree in Hasanpur village.
   
Another woman took the extreme step by jumping before a moving train on Delhi-Ambala route near Nawla village yesterday.

Both the bodies, yet to be identified, have been sent for postmortem.
