The convoy of the 90-member delegation of British prime minister David Cameron will be snaking its way through Bangalore’s roads on Wednesday.

This means one thing for Bangaloreans: Watch out for that traffic.
Britain’s youngest prime minister, Cameron, will be visiting the Infosys campus at Electronic City, the defence manufacturing unit at HAL and he will also be dropping by at the Raj Bhavan during his visit to the city.

The Bangalore city police have made elaborate arrangements for the premier’s smooth movement so that he can reach his destination at the scheduled time.

Given the protocol, traffic snarls are expected at the city’s major junctions. Cameron and his convoy will begin their trip across the city from Leela Palace Kempinski Hotel on Old Airport Road at 9 am.

The convoy will first stop by at Raj Bhavan  to call on governor HR Bhardwaj at 10 am.

Roads to avoid between 9 am and 10 am are Old Airport Road, Indiranagar 100 feet Road junction, Domlur Road, ASC Centre, Trinity Church Road, Begum Mahal circle, Ulsoor Road, Dickenson Road, Manipal Centre, Cubbon Road, Kamaraj Road Junction, BRV Junction, CTO Circle and Raj Bhavan Road. From here, the convoy will move to HAL on Old Airport Road before proceeding to the Infosys campus in Electronic City.

Avoid these roads between 10 am and 11 am — Raj Bhavan Road, Ali Asker Road, Infantry Road, Cubbon Road, Dickenson Road, Ulsoor Road, Kensington Road, Trinity Church road, ASC Centre, Domlur Road, Old Airport Road, Indiranagar 100 feet Road junction, Koramangala Intermediate Ring Road, Air View points, Koramangala 80 feet Road, Water Tank Junction, Krupanidhi Junction, Madiwala Santhe Beedi, Silk Board Flyover, elevated flyover and Hosur Road.

Security is also being beefed up across the city as a part of the British prime minister’s delegation is scheduled to make a stop at Narayana Health City on Hosur Road.

The British premier will make his way back to the Leela Palace from the Infosys Technologies campus at noon.

Roads that are likely to get affected are Electronic City road, elevated flyover, Silk Board junction opposite Madivala police station, Krupanidhi Junction, Water Tank, 100 feet Kormangala intermediate ring road, Indiranagar 100 feet junction, and Old Airport Road up to Leela Palace Kempinski Hotel.

Between 2 pm and 3.30 pm, it is best to avoid the road leading from Leela  Palace Kempinski Hotel to the Old Airport, as the foreign delegate will take his flight to Delhi from here.
