British Council announces International Climate Champions 2010

As a British Council ICC, would raise awareness, address impacts through a project and contribute to growing international consensus on the need to tackle climate change.

British Council India has announced its International Climate Champions (ICC) 2010, a youth oriented programme run in partnership with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

Inviting applications for the programme, a release from British Council here today said it was aimed at people in the age group of 18-23 with an active interest in the environment and climate change and who wish to take positive action to make a difference in their communities and peer groups.

As a British Council ICC, would raise awareness, address impacts through a project and contribute to growing international consensus on the need to tackle climate change.

The Council would support with training and guidance, opportunities to meet with decision makers, as well as opportunities to network at local, national and international level but the ideas and time will come from the ICC, it said.
