A teenaged girl received serious burns when a boy threw acid at her in Jaunpur district, 6 km from here, police said today.
Dheeraj Maurya allegedly threw acid on 15-years-old Nisha, a resident of Sirkina village, yesterday and fled from the scene.
The girl, who sustained burns on her face, back and hand, was rushed to a district hospital.
An FIR has been filed by the police and efforts are on to nab the accused.
