Bodies of jawans killed in Naxal attack flown to Lucknow

About 25 bodies of the personnel hailing from Uttar Pradesh are likely to arrive at Amausi airport, from where they will be sent to their native places.

Bodies of 12 CRPF jawans killed in Naxal ambush in Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh, were brought to Lucknow today by a special aircraft.

"Of the 76 jawans killed in Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh yesterday as many as 42 belonged to Uttar Pradesh," director general of police Karamveer Singh said.

About 25 bodies of the personnel hailing from Uttar Pradesh are likely to arrive at Amausi airport, from where they will be sent to their native places.

Senior police and administrative officials received the bodies of slain jawans. SP leader Akhilesh Yadav was also present. Major Vikas Dhankad, ADC to Governor of Uttar Pradesh, laid wreath on his behalf after the bodies of CRPF jawans arrived here at the Amausi Airport.

Governor BL Joshi in his condolence message condemned the Naxal attack and said these acts were aimed at disturbing peace and harmony.

The governor also extended his sympathies to the bereaved families.
