Block development officer arrested in Udhampur

Police have arrested a block development officer (BDO) allegedly in a compromising position with a woman from his official quarter in Udhampur district's Ramnagar belt, 120 km from here, police said.
 
Acting on information by locals, police raided official residence of BDO of Rural Development Department Abdul Aziz Qurashi. He was caught in compromising position with Bimla in Ramnagar area last evening, they said.
 
Locals were protesting over the exploitation of women by the said BDO. A case has been registered against Qureshi, who has been sent to police lockup, they said.
 
The RDD authorities has put the officer under suspension, they said.
