BJP activists today hit the streets of Budgam in central Kashmir to protest price rise and said the demonstrations would spread to other districts till corrective measures are taken.

Senior BJP leaders Mohammad Ashraf Azad and Sofi Mohammad Yousuf led a procession from the local bus stand to the office of deputy commissioner in Budgam, 15 kms from here.

This was the second protest organised by the party in Kashmir within two days and Azad said the party would continue the agitations at blocks, tehsils and districts till government takes measures to stabilise prices of essential commodities.

Talking to reporters Azad also blamed the state government for growing incidents of stone pelting in the valley. "The reason for growing stone pelting incidents in Kashmir was the failure of the government to tackle the issue of unemployment. The youths were promised jobs prior to elections but no concrete steps were taken to provide employment to them", he alleged.
