"JD(U) president Sharad Yadav and I held a meeting today to discuss the possibility of an alliance in Jharkhand. It has been decided that JD(U) will contest 14 seats," BJP vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told PTI.

JD(U) had yesterday announced nominees for 19 seats, a day after BJP declared its first list of 58 candidates, and JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav had said seat sharing talks with BJP for the polls have broken down.

Naqvi said the two NDA allies will campaign jointly.

The formal announcement of the finalisation of the seat sharing arrangement is likely to be made by BJP president Rajnath Singh in presence of Yadav.
