Surat: Generally, the trend has been of film-stars entering politics, but something exactly the opposite is happening in Surat. A city councillor is busy these days shooting for an album dedicated to Sai Baba, and is planning to make a Marathi film.
Yajuvendra Dube, BJP councilor from civic ward no. 36 in Surat is acting in music album 'Sabke Nath Sainath'. Dube is also the producer of the album, which will feature Hindi belters.

"The director of the album was looking for someone to produce the album. I listened to the songs and found them really touchy. Since I am a devotee of Shri Sai Baba, I asked the director to start shooting for the album," Dube said.

Dube was connected with the album only as producer but the director decided to rope him as the lead actor too.

"I noticed that artists hired for the album were not performing up to the mark. While I was showing them what exactly the album needed, the director asked me to face the camera. The director was impressed with the shot I gave and decided to take me in the album," Dube said.

Dube will appear in each of the nine songs in the album. Singers Aneesh Savri and Nizam Savri have sung songs for the album, which also features one qawalli dedicated to Sai Baba.

The album is being shot at Godadara in Surat and shooting of three of the songs has already been completed. The remaining six songs are likely to be shot over the next fortnight.

While he has already got an offer from a music company to sell the album's rights, Dube says he is waiting for a better offer.

"After the album, I have decided to make a Marathi film with the theme that all Indians are same. The film will criticize Raj Thackeray, who provokes hatred among different communities. The preliminary script of the film is ready, and I plan to start work on it once the album is complete," Dube added.
