BJP appoints 15 district and city presidents in Gujarat

Ellisbridge MLA Rakesh Shah has been made president of city BJP unit while Mandal MLA Pragji patel has been given the charge of party unit of Ahmedabad district.

Gujarat BJP today announced presidents for 16 districts and cities and has given organisational task to five sitting MLAs in Ahmedabad, Kutch, Mehsana and Rajkot.

Ellisbridge MLA Rakesh Shah has been made president of city BJP unit while Mandal MLA Pragji patel has been given the charge of party unit of Ahmedabad district.

Abdasa MLA Jayantibhai Bhanusali has been made president of Kutch district while Tankara MLA and former minister Mohanbhai Kundaria has been appointed as Rajkot district BJP.

Visnagar MLA Ruskhikesh Patel has been declared as the president of Mehsana district while former MLA Mahesh Bhuria has been given the responsibility of tribal dominated Dahod district in central Gujarat.

Besides this, Thakorbhai Patel has been appointed as Valsad party unit head while Purnesh Modi has been made Surat
city unit president. Former mayor of Rajkot Dhansukh Bhanderi is the new president of Rajkot city while Suresh Patel has been made president of Surat district.

In Bharuch, Shirish Bangali has been appointed as the president while Balkrishna Patel is the new president of Vadodara district. Now only Jamnagar city party unit president yet to be announced.

Former MP Dipak Patel has been made party president of Anand district while Nilesh Odedara has been made party president of Porbandar unit.

In Bhavnagar city, BJP has appointed Tulsibhai Patel while Babubhai Jebalia has been given the responsibility of
Bhavnagar district.

The BJP had made appointments for 16 district and city units. The party has been in the process of organisational elections and it has appointed presidents at all block and ward levels in the state earlier.

After all the district and city units' heads are appointed, the party will declare president for the state unit in place of Pusushottam Rupala, whose three year term as the state party head ended in December last year.

"We have appointed presidents of all district and city units while president for Jamnagar city will be appointed tonight," said Bharatsinh Parmar, state BJP general secretary, who is supervising the organisational polls in the state.
