Bhutan today sought India's help, and particularly West Bengal, to contain drug trafficking through Indo-Bhutan border.
Bhutanese health minister L Z Dupka told reporters here after meeting West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee that "A joint initiative can help contain this menace along the border between the two countries to a great extent."
"The state of West bengal has a big role to play in this regard as a major part of the sensitive border between the two countries covers this state," he said.
During his talks with Bhattacharjee, Dupka also discussed how treatment and healthcare facilities could be made for Bhutanese people in city hospitals.
The visiting minister also welcomed Indian private entrepreneurs for investment in the health sector of Bhutan to upgrade their health infrastructure there.
