The counsel of Malkhan Singh Bishnoi, one of the accused in the Bhanwari Devi abduction and murder case, today filed an application before the ACJM court (SC/ST Cases) seeking his release from the charges as the former has been "falsely implicated" in the case.

Hemnat Nahta, the counsel, in his application said yesterday that Bishnoi had no motive to kill Bhanwari Devi and the entire criminal proceeding against him is done with "malafide intention".

Nahta also produced a list of 11 names, including that of Jakhar and Maderna, who have been suspected or attributable with a motive to kill Bhanwari Devi, in the application.

The counsel argued that Bishnoi has no dispute with the victim and as such he was was falsely implicated in the case.

The arguments on the charge framing on Bishnoi have already been completed and the same against his brother Paras Ram and husband of Bhanwari, Amarchand are to take place on 11 September.
