Class X board examinations are on. A class X student in  Gandhinagar was so stressed while preparing for the approaching Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) exams that he forgot how to walk normally and was perpetually on the run. The case became so intense that even if he wanted to have a glass of water, he would run into the kitchen or to the bathroom for a bath. But he refused to walk normally.

Worried about his son’s peculiar behaviour, parents called up a team of counselling students proficient in yogic psychotherapy. With some asanas and prayanam, the student felt relaxed and in half an hour’s time began behaving normally.

'To help students, appearing for the board exams starting from March 5, a team of Foundation of Yogic Psychotherapy, that helped the student from Gandhinagar, is ready to extend its help to other students feeling depressed, stressed and low of confidence.
To help students suffering from stress, the foundation, on Friday, launched its website and a helpline number 079 27662299. The helpline will take calls from students and parents; decide the type of therapy required and visit the student at home for the treatment.
Dr Param Shukla, a psychiatrist who is a part of the team, will help students get rid of the burden by counselling. Dr Kamlesh Rajgor, founder of the organisation said, “All students require different type of yogic therapy. We receive calls and get details of the problem faced by students. We use prayanam, bhastrika, asanas to relax the student apart from imparting psychological counselling,” he said.
