KOLKATA: Star footballer Baichung Bhutia on Thursday expressed his annoyance over the use of his video shots in a CPI(M) campaign material for the forthcoming West Bengal Assembly polls, saying he was not informed of the motive behind the making of the film.
"When they took my shots, they told me that it would be used to showcase development works in villages. No one told me that it would be used for a particular party," the soccer ace told reporters here.
Bhutia said his sole concern now was to improve the standards of Indian soccer and not promoting a political party. "I'm concerned about football. I have nothing to do with any political party," he said.
Bhutia's video shots, used by CPI(M) in a campaign film to portray a resurgent West Bengal under the Left Front rule, were being widely shown by the party in the poll-bound state.
