The father of a teenaged girl, who got a battered two-year-old admitted in AIIMS, and two others were arrested in Delhi for allegedly abandoning her and forcing her into prostitution, police said today.

The 15-year-old girl was in the news after she brought baby Falak, who was allegedly beaten up by her, to AIIMS for treatment claiming that she was her mother.

The girl had eloped from her house alleging that her father used to physically torture her. She eloped with Rajkumar, who entrusted the girl with Falak two months ago.

"We have arrested three persons -- her father, a woman, who forced her into prostitution, and another man. They have been charged with various sections, including abandoning her and forcing her into prostitution," a senior police official said. Rajkumar is still on the run.

The Child Welfare Committee, which is looking into the case of the teenaged girl who got the baby admitted, had said that a case should be registered against her father. Sources said the committee was of the view that a case should be registered against the teenager's father for cruelty and abuse.

It also suggested that a separate case also should be registered against four persons who allegedly sexually abused the teenaged girl.

The committee said after talking to a counsellor, the teenager has told them that her father was in jail for 8 years for murdering her aunt and the father, who was present at the hearing, confirmed it.

Investigators had earlier this week identified a crucial link and a woman named Lakshmi is being questioned.

Baby Falak was admitted to AIIMS with severe injuries and is battling for life after the teenaged girl, who was looking after her after her boyfriend left the girl with her, got her admitted.

A senior police official claimed one Munni along with her daughter had come to Lakshmi's house in September last year claiming that her husband has abandoned them. Lakshmi offered her stay in her house and worked as a maid.

The official said Munni disappeared from Lakshmi's house after 20 days leaving the child there.

"Lakshmi then gave the child to Manoj who entrusted the girl with Rajkumar who was living with the teenaged girl who allegedly beat the baby girl," the official said.

Rajkumar allegedly took the child to his house in November but his wife refused to keep the child.

"It was during the time Rajkumar met the teenager. He then started living with the teenager and the baby. Mid-January, he left for Mumbai to treat his physically-challenged son. The teenager was taking care of the baby. It appears that she couldn't take proper care of the child and out of frustration she assaulted her physically," the official said.
