Even as the police plan to launch a drive to flush out unauthorised moneylenders, who lend money to the needy at exorbitant rates, an auto driver from Chandkheda has lodged a complaint against some moneylenders for harassment.

The auto driver, Narendra Singh Chandel a resident of Jantanagar in Chandkheda has lodged a complaint against Gangasaran Gupta, his wife Sarla and his two sons Anoj and Manoj.  He has accused them of harassment and mental torture.

Sources said that Gangasran was exerting pressure on Narendra to vacate his house at Jantanagar.  According to Chandkheda police sources, Narendra lives in a two storey house along with his mother Triveni, his brother Suresh Singh, sister-in-law Shobha and three nephews Ravi, Vishal, and Dipu.

Sources said that around five years back, Suresh had taken a loan of Rs5 lakh from Gupta for a monthly interest of 10%.  Sources said that Suresh has paid  more than Rs 1.5 lakh to Gupta, however, Gupta insisted that Suresh pay the rest of the money soon failing which he threatened to take over his house.

Sources said that a month ago, Gupta had even managed to get Narendra’s house registered under his name and given the family a month’s time to vacate it.

On Monday, Gupta and his goons reached Jantanagar to vacate the house, however, Narendra refused to vacate the house claiming that his brother had taken the money and he would not vacate the house.  Later, Narendra lodged a complaint at Chandkheda police station.
