Four watchmen of the Asaram ashram located at Motera, who were issued summons on July 7 last, have told Justice BK Trivedi Commission, probing the mysterious deaths
of two boys in the ashram premises last year, that they had no knowledge about black magic being practised at the ashram and claimed that Asaram Bapu is a good person.

The watchmen - Pravinbhai Prajapati, Suresh Pokrial, Premjibhai Varu and Vitthalbhai Jagdela - filed an affidavit to this effect before the commission on Friday. They have claimed that they are totally unaware of black magic being practised at the ashram and the death of two ashram boys.

On Thursday, the ashram had filed an affidavit before the commission, stating that three sadhaks had not said that black magic was performed at the ashram.

The gurukul's three sadhaks - Meen Ketan Patra, Uday Sanghani and Vikas Khemka - denied that black magic is performed at the ashram.

Earlier, the officials of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) had submitted in an affidavit before the Gujarat high court that black magic may have been practised at the ashram.

The affidavit was filed after lie-detector tests conducted on the three sadhaks revealed that black magic was performed at the ashram and they were aware of the same.
